The article addresses the basic theoretical issues of management of teaching activities under the orientation of approaching primary school students’ competence in the context of educational innovation in Vietnam. Management of teaching activities under the orientation of approaching primary school students’ competence should ensure a comprehensive consideration through the following aspects: The nature, principles and content of managing teaching activities under the orientation of approaching primary school students’ competence to meet requirements in new general education program.
