12. Studying the teaching capability of secondary education teachers in Hanoi city based on the teacher professional standards

ABSTRACT

Teacher professional standards are the bases for building the output standards of teacher education programs; are the bases for teacher self-assessing their strengths, weaknesses to determine their own needs and conduct training professional orientation; for managers to evaluate teachers annually, are the bases for the assignment, as well as performance of regular training activities in order to constantly develop professional competence of teachers. In some standards, the standard of teaching capability reflects the most major function, task of teachers.

The author studied 11 public high schools in Hanoi and made sociological survey of principals, teaching capability of teachers according to teacher professional standards, getting the conclusion: both managers and teachers are aware of the necessity of teacher professional standards, in which the most importance is the teaching capability.
