01. Open education and development orientation for Vietnam

ABSTRACT

The article deals with open education as a concept that has always evolved for higher education. First, the article analyzes concept of “open” in society and organizations before infering the definition of open education. And then the author analyzes the development stages as well as the introduces 10 aspects of open education and the relationship with lifelong learning and personalized learning in the fourth industry era. After that, the article outlines characteristics of the world's open education, under approaches: open university, MOOC and openness within and between universities. Finally, the author preliminarily evaluates and thereby, proposes development orientations for Vietnam's open education in the coming time.
