04. Some theoretical and practical issues in ethnic relations of the Khmer people in Vietnam and Cambodia (case study of the Khmer people in the southwest region)

ABSTRACT: ABSTRACT: Vietnam and Cambodia, through the lifetime relationship for generations, have built a strong attachment during the process of development. In particular, for the Southwest region of Vietnam, the Khmer people are “the bridges” in the national relations between the two countries who are valuable in terms of co-religion and co-culture; and they strive to occupy the scientific knowledge in the new period of development. Therefore, the study of ethnical relations, both from the national perspective and from the community perspective, has contributed a great value to the formulation of common policies of the nations on community issues of Khmer people in Vietnam in general, and in the Southwest region of Vietnam in particular
