Tóm tắt: Nghiên cứu khoa học là quá trình hình thành, kiểm chứng và phát triển tri thức mới dựa trên những nguyên lý và quy trình có cơ sở lý luận vững chắc. Trong tiến trình đó, việc xây dựng phương pháp luận và phương pháp nghiên cứu giữ vai trò hạt nhân, quyết định đến chất lượng, giá trị và uy tín của công trình khoa học. Tuy nhiên trong thực hành nghiên cứu, không ít học viên, nghiên cứu sinh thường nhầm lẫn giữa hai khái niệm này hoặc xem nhẹ, triển khai mang tính hình thức, dẫn đến thiết kế nghiên cứu thiếu định hướng và kết quả khó đánh giá tái lập. Bài viết tiếp cận vấn đề từ bình diện triết lý khoa học đến thiết kế nghiên cứu nhằm kiến tạo một khung hướng dẫn thực hành có hệ thống, giúp người nghiên cứu xây dựng phương pháp luận và phương pháp nghiên cứu quy chuẩn, bảo đảm tính logic, độ tin cậy, giá trị và đạo đức trong thiết kế dự án khoa học.

Abstract: Scientific research is a process of generating, verifying, and developing new knowledge based on sound theoretical principles and well-established procedures. Within this process, the construction of research methodology and research methods plays a central role in determining the quality, validity and scholarly credibility of any scientific work. However, in research practice, many students and postgraduate students often confuse these two concepts or treat them superficially, resulting in research designs that lack methodological and philosophical orientation and outcomes that are difficult to assess or replicate. This article approaches the issue from the philosophical foundations of science to the design of research practice, aiming to construct a coherent and systematic guiding framework for research practice. Such a framework enables researchers to develop well-founded methodologies and appropriate research methods that ensure logical consistency, reliability, validity and ethical integrity throughout the entire process of scientific inquiry and research project design.
